Paul Hoffman, CPA formed the Hoffman Group in 2000, after having been CFO or controller of several wineries since 1986. Paul has focused on internal operations, strategic planning, IT solutions, recapitalization, staff training, and tax issues for Rutherford Hill, The Hess Collection, and Kendall Jackson. Prior to the wine industry, Paul worked in the San Francisco offices of Moss Adams and Laventhol & Horwath, specializing in the real estate and consumer products industries. Paul is a member of the American Institute of CPA's.
Lance Spears, MBA spent
eight years in public accounting working in the audit and tax departments of KPMG and regional CPA firms, as he
serviced manufacturing, defense and non-profit industries. Later, as VP of
Finance at a Dover Corporation subsidiary, Mr. Spears was responsible for
valuing and validating acquisition targets for various Dover subsidiaries.
Prior to joining The Hoffman Group in 2008, Lance was CFO, and later CEO, of
Seguin Moreau Napa Cooperage, a leading subsidiary of a French manufacturer of
fine wine barrels. Today, Lance focuses on accounting processes, financial modeling, staffing, and M&A transactions. Janel Sizelove, CPA has worked
in the wine industry for 12 years as controller of several highly successful Napa wineries. Prior to that she served as Controller for insurance
and industrial equipment distribution businesses. Janel began her career with
Deloitte and Touche
in their LA, Chicago and Milwaukee offices, working in both audit and
tax. Her financial
expertise includes design and setup of monthly processes, accounting systems, human resources, and
compliance.
